Although it can be quite hot and humid during the summer, the overall climate for the remainder of the year is very nice. Housing prices are quite a bit lower here than in the rest of the country which gives a great lifestyle to those that live here. They make more money in their careers and spend less on their living expenses which provides a great cost of living for the residents.
Several well known professional athletes such as Lance Armstrong, Deion Sanders and Fred Couples started out here. The World Olympic Gymnastics Academy is also in Plano and has had a couple of Olympic gymnasts train there such as Carly Patterson and Nastia Liukin who were the 2004 and the 2008 All around Olympic champions, in that order.
