Redecorating Your Office with Wall & Door Protection
Visitors and business rivals can tell a lot from the presentation of your office. It’s important to keep your office smart, clean and sophisticated.Your choice of furniture and décor are therefore very important. Including everything from décor to door protection, here are my top tips for revamping your office.
The Welcome
When guests arrive at your offices, they will immediately make judgements based on what they see and how they feel. Reception areas must be light and airy so that they feel welcoming. There should be an obvious waiting area and it should be comfortable.Either chairs or sofas are okay, but be sure to find the balance between comfortable and professional. it would be unprofessional to have a reception area which resembled a lounge.
The Décor
Don’t go overboard. Whole areas or rooms shouldn’t be painted in one overbearing colour. On the other hand, don’t be dull.Corporate colours or bright colours are fine, but are perhaps best kept to feature walls or artwork.
The Props
Plants add colour to an office and keep the air fresher. The greenery will also boost morale.{ Don’t be afraid to have a few plants around the office, particularly in closed off offices and reception areas. But just remember only live plants look good, so have your watering can to hand. Also, don’t be afraid to show off a little. You could display company products in a cabinet in reception. This personal touch shows visitors what your company is about.Other props to consider are water coolers, well organised shelving and file storage and industry specific magazines in reception for visitors to browse.
Tidiness
Staff desks and kitchen areas are often a source of clutter. Staff should be expected to clean up their own mess. After all they are adults. Still, don’t be tempted to go to the other end of the spectrum and ban personal items on desks.Your staff spends a lot of time at those desks, and they should be comfortable.Besides, visitors like to see your personnel as individuals rather than drones.
The Maintenance
Protecting your office is important. If you don’t, you will find yourself spending money every few months to repair unsightly chips in paintwork. There is no sense in following these tips to revamp your office if you don’t bother to protect your hard work. You can buy a range of protective trims for doors and walls and they’re well worth the money. You might not have realised it until you stop to think about it now, but all those delivery boxes and tea trolleys are likely to do at least some damage to your walls and doors.Simple wall and door protection will eliminate this risk.
