In 1945/46 then senator J. William Fulbright established the Fulbright Fellowship Grant scholarship program which is funded by Congressional appropriations and funding provided by partner governments. This truely unique Fulbright scholarship has no equal when it comes to comparing scholarships and grants today. It's an international scholarship which allows students to complete college in other countries. Senator J. William Fulbright intentions of creating the Fulbright Grant was in his own words: "The Fulbright Commission aims to bring a little more knowledge, a little more reason, and a little more compassion into world affairs and thereby increase the chance that nations will learn at last to live in peace and friendship".
