Unknown and Unclaimed Native American Scholarships

One good place to start looking for unknown and unclaimed Native American scholarships is the Indian Resource Development who publishes the many sources of financial aid made available to American Indian students.They have a booklet which provides up-to-date information on financial aid for Native American students. The booklet is updated every year so the information should be current on what it reccomends. For Native American graduate students; their is a very good and unknown Indian scholarship offered by the University of Arizona -Graduate College for Native American master’s and Ph.D. students. The college has partnered with the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to offer fifteen fifteen graduate fellowships per year to Native American graduate students entering master’s or Ph.D. programs in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Agriculture. They go as high as $38,000. The University of Arizona and the Sloan Native American Partnership was formed to address the national need for academically prepared Native Americans who can help foster economic development in their communities and reservations which would lead to leadership positions in universities, government, and the corporate world. This is one of the largest Native American scholarships and Grants.
