American Tinnitus Association - Actively Searching for a Tinnitus Cure
American Tinnitus Assocation
Being the largest organization of its kind, The American Tinnitus Association is striving to do research that will enable them to find a cure. Scientists continue to search for new details about tinnitus causes and treatments. The American Tinnitus Assocation or the ATA is dedicated to supporting this research as well as making the discovery of a cure their top priority.
To provide a cure for tinnitus as swiftly as possible, they fund research by the best scientists in the field. In the search for a cure, the American Tinnitus Association has donated over $4 million dollars since 1980, with nearly $600,000 of these research grant dollars or nearly one/eighth of that total budget being awarded in 2008 alone. Eighty four different research studies have been preformed trying to correlate the cause and treatments of tinnitus.
What are some differences that the ATA has brought about?
American Tinnitus Association scientists are determining what they need to know about tinnitus so that it can be cured. They've assembled what is known as a "roadmap."
To make this "roadmap," they began by identifying all that is known already about tinnitus and recording the info. The next step is to try to find out what other information is required to help create a cure.
This may require a lot of research and can be a lenghty process. Every new piece of information about tinnitus puts scientists closer to finding a cure. Much of today's research involves case studies with real patients dealing with this condition on a daily basis.
Worldwide, tinnitus disrupts the lives of millions of people. Cases may be mild and are noticed usually just at night, but not everybody is that lucky. It becomes almost impossible for people with severe tinnitus because sounds get so loud as to become unbearable.
The American Tinnitus Association is searching for a cure for everyone that suffers. ATA supports and funds such research so that these people can be relieved of their pain and can live normal lives as soon as possible.
Is there anything someone can do to assist?
Finding the best treatment or even a cure for tinnitus is the major objective of the American Tinnitus Association, which is the leader in this field. Their generous support has been instrumental in helping to discover the treatments we have today. There are ways to reduce the symptoms. This can be attributed to all the research which has been done. It's also given critical info on how to avoid or lessen the risk of getting tinnitus to begin with.
Further research is paramount to discovering the pathways to a cure for tinnitus. The ATA needs your help in discovering a cure for, the prevention of and treatment for the condition known as tinnitus. There are many ways families and buisinesses can help the American Tinnitus Association. Anything you can do to support their work is hugely appreciated. A major tinnitus research breakthrough could be on the horizon.
