Tigers back in area game in recruiting
When it comes to college football recruiting, a little face time can go a long way. Auburn has that, as much as anything, to thank for its early success in the Mobile area this spring after being soundly beaten by Nick Saban and Alabama in practically every Port City recruiting battle last year. Monday's commitment by Williamson receiver LaVoyd James gave the Tigers four early Mobile-area pledges - five if you count former Williamson lineman Nick Fairley, who signed with the Tigers in 2007 but played at Copiah-Lincoln (Miss.) Community College after failing to qualify academically. The Tigers also have commitments from Williamson defensive lineman Terrance Coleman, Blount linebacker Jonathan Evans and former Faith Academy quarterback Raymond Cotton, who is moving to Fort Meade, Md., for his senior year. more
