A Fun And Easy Clambake At Home
Summer time is a great time to have fun, and the best way to have fun is to invite your friends and family over for a clambake. Seafood cooked over a fire, some exotic drinks, brightly colored decorations, and appropriate music make for a great time for all.
But, when the weather is not fine, or even when winter hits, why not hold a delicious homemade clambake? What a great way to bring the feeling of summer to a cold winter day! And it's a fun, easy and healthy way of entertainment.
Instead of having the same old clambake, think of having a super deluxe clambake which will surely make your guests happy as it comprises a variety of foods. Just buy some fresh shellfish, clams, mussels, shrimp and if you want, some live lobster and crabs. You can also consider having clam chowder or lobster bisque with corn on the cob and some roasted potatoes.
Since seafood recipes can get pretty messy when you're feasting on it, always be prepared to have a good supply of bibs, lots of table napkins, claw crackers, and some towlettes that are pre-moistened. These things are also very important just like the food for your clambake.
Traditionally, clambakes are cooked over an open fire in a two to three feet deep pit on the beach but since you are preparing an indoor clambake, all you need for cooking are traditional indoor stove tops. Yes, it is quite easy.
Just have a large stock pot on hand and you're ready to go. Stock pots are available in various sizes and some even come with a basket and a steamer rack. A number of cooking stores and Internet shops sell these things so there's no need for you to worry. And while you're looking for that stock pot on the Internet, you can also browse many good clambake recipes for indoor cooking.
If you want your clambake preparation a lot easier, then think about purchasing clambake kits. These kits will contain a lot of things that will be very useful for your party like cloth napkins, claw crackers, and wet naps, with the seafood itself. Just shop for fresh vegetables to add for your clambake and you're all set to have the best seafood feast!
Just because you can't have your super deluxe clambake party outdoors, it doesn't necessarily mean that your party is bound to be boring. Simply use your creativity and you'll be sure that you and your guests will have the most fun clambake at home party.
