PLR Articles: Ban Proof Your Site

One of the best ways to get loads of organic search traffic is through article marketing. Articles give your site content, and search engines love content. Having lots of unique, valuable content on your site makes it more valuable to your visitors and gets your site ranked higher by the search engines.

To get good content for your site, there are several options. The easiest way is to get related content from an online article directory. This is a quick way to get content on your site, but it has its drawbacks. First, the author will typically include a link to their own website either somewhere in the article or at the end in their bio information. Second, that same article may show up on thousands of other websites as well. The search engines will see this as duplicate content and will reduce the value given to the article. Now, having duplicate content may very well be better than having no content, but there are other options to consider.

The best option is to create your own orginal content. This may be an easy thing for some people, but many people have a hard time getting the creative juices going. Others may just not have the time or patience to stare at a screen until something comes to mind. If you have a lot of experience in a particular subject that is related to your website, you could easily create a great deal of unique content on your own. However, if your website is about something you don't have a lot of experience in, writing a good article can be difficult and time consuming. Fortunately, there is a way of getting unique content without spending the time and effort of doing it yourself.

If you can't create the content yourself, private label articles are the best solution. Private label articles are often referred to as PLR articles. PLR stands for "Private Label Rights". PLR articles are written by someone else, but given to you with the right to modify as you see fit, and list yourself as the author. Be careful, though, when choosing a PLR article provider. You want a provider that uses keyword research to decide what subjects to write about. Articles with long-tail keywords are much more valuable and stand a much better chance at getting higher search engine rankings. For example, an article about "acne" will have an unbelievable amount of competition, but an article about "body acne medications" will have a much better chance of making it to the first few pages of the search engines.

Another important thing to look for in a PLR article provider is how many times the article can be downloaded. If the site allows unlimited downloads, stay away. That is no better than using an article from an article directory. Look for sites that limit the articles to no more than two or three hundred downloads. Although this may seem like a lot, with millions of web pages online, a couple hundred is not much at all. Besides, you should be modifying these PLR articles anyway. By simply adding an introductory and summary paragraph of your own, you will have a totally unique article that will be given value by the search engines and boost your site's rankings.

Many traffic generating methods give quick bursts of traffic but have to be repeated often in order to maintain the traffic stream. Generating traffic through article marketing takes time, but once your article is indexed, you can expect to see a steady stream of traffic that will continue to grow with time.
