The judges, Randy, Paula and Simon gushed all over David Archuleta and all but proclaimed him the winner last night on the American Idol final showdown. There's no denying the kid has a good voice and has performed well but every song he does sounds like a lounge act. In the showstopper, according to the judges, John Lennon's "Imagine", the kid left out the controversial opening lyrics and replaced Lennon's grittiness with a sappy vocal performance.
