The sage herb

Common sage or Salvia officinalis, is a much loved herb grown in many gardens in temperate climates. The herb is also called the Garden Sage, or Kitchen Sage, due to its many uses as a home remedy for many small ailments.

One of its peculiar characteristics is its effect on the mind. Salvia herbs as a whole are known for this, and used as an anti depressant by some. But not only that, they are known as a remedy for sore throats and indigestion.

In order to grow Common Sage, what you need is just a small garden and the right kind of weather, namely not too cold or having long winters. Sage is a perennial herb and grows well, in climates that are a bit dry.

If taken care of, they will regrow back each year, and provide you with fresh leaves for your kitchen. This article has more info on the Sage Herb.
