Bench Press Rules


Most men start out with the bench press when they feel they are too small. They start with a small amount and can work up to various heavy weights that will leave them strong, cut, and healthier. However, women often start with a small amount and don’t go much higher than that. They can if they want to, but they often bench press small amounts. Muscle can build up, and some don’t like that look. It won’t make you look like a man at all, but it can become a bit larger in areas. That is why they often find a weight they are comfortable with, but still offers a challenge, and they don’t go much higher than that.

If you are not sure what to do or how much you should bench press, you can find a personal trainer at your local gym. They should know where to start you out, and they can also couch you in the proper way to bench press so you get the most from your workout and so that you have proper form. Though this is something that is very easy to do, you do have to be sure you don’t strain yourself or lift in the wrong way. You can get hurt rather easily. You should always have a spotter, and the trainer will play that roll for you as well.
